Accessorizing...

Lately the weather here has been really nice! Which in turn has made me want to go hiking. My only problem is that I have to choose a trail that is paved so that I can put Jacob in the stroller...which in my opinion is not hiking. So I started looking around at the baby carriers which in most cases were $80 or more...we can't afford that right now. Then I came across a thing called a Moby Wrap, it was perfect! Exactly what I have been looking for but it is all in one. You can carry the baby in so many different positions you can even nurse in it and you can use it from preemie sizes all the way up to 35 pounds! The only problem was that it is around $40 which unfortunately right now is still out of our budget. But the more I read about it I started to find out that all it is, is a 5 yard piece of knit fabric that is about 20 inches wide. I can make that! So I went to JoAnn's and started looking around at fabrics the only one I found that I liked was $10 a yard, I could buy one already made for cheaper. I gave up and decided I would just have to wait until our next baby or make Brad go donate plasma or something to pay for it. Well later on I went to Wal-Mart for some other things and passed by the fabric section and my first thought was they weren't going to have what I was looking for because they hardly had any fabric. But then as I was searching through the clearance section there it was a whole bunch of different kinds of knit fabrics for only $1.50 or less a yard! I was so excited I got two different types a crinkle cotton (which is supposed to be better for heavier babies) and a jersey knit one in a chocolate color the other is a sage. I just got done cutting the jersey knit, which by the way doesn't involve any sewing, and I just got done watching a whole bunch of videos on how to use it and I am sooooo excited to try it out... I almost went and woke Jacob up, but decided against it. I am supposed to go hiking with my sister on Monday (hope you didn't forget Audra-Rodrigo!) we will see how it works! So now I can use Jacob as an accessory and a very cute accessory he will be! 10 Months Old...

Well Jacob is 10 months old today. I cannot believe how fast time has gone it is so crazy, he is almost a year old! He finally got his first tooth around 9 months and I think another one is coming in because he has been extremely cranky this last week. He will wave hi and bye-bye and sometimes I swear he says "hi' and "bye-bye". He is for sure saying "mama" and "dada". He loves to dance to music, his favorite song to dance to is the theme music from "Law and Order" I don't know why he likes it so much but whenever it comes on he will stop what he is doing and start dancing even if he is nursing, it's really funny! One of these days I will catch him on video. (not nursing but dancing, just had to clarify)

He is refusing to eat anything off of a spoon, he wants to feed himself. Stubborn, just like his Dad :) He's not walking yet, but that's okay cause I don't know if I am ready for that yet :) He is getting to be such a cutie! He has the funnest personality and he is constantly entertaining us! We love him and he is more than we could ever ask for!

Christmas...

Christmas this year was lots of fun. On Christmas Eve we all went over to my parent's house and had our Christmas dinner and opened presents from family members and then on Christmas Day Brad had to work all day (from 8am-10pm) so I dropped him off at work and went over to my parent's house and opened more presents. Jacob had fun opening presents, at first he wasn't sure of what he was supposed to do and then he started to get the hang of it...
Then after relaxing all day and eating all day... I picked Brad up from work and we hopped on the freeway to go to California...

California was lots of fun we got to see all of Brad's siblings and I will admit at times it is overwhelming but also fun cause there is always something going on. This time our sister-in-law Heather put together a talent show and every family did a talent. Unfortunately we couldn't think of anything to do so we left it up to Jacob to do something and we let him wrestle his cousin, which is one thing that he loves to do with his boy cousins.

After the Talent Show we had fun eating pizza and dancing. Heather did a really good job putting it all together.

Poor Brad had allergies almost the entire time and during the last couple of days we were there started to get a cold and it has only become worse throughout the week and he now has an ear infection, Strep throat and Bronchitis and Jacob got sick the night before we were supposed to leave (Monday) and we just found out last Saturday that he also has Strep throat. So to all the family we saw over the past week, we really hope that we didn't get any of you sick!

But all in all it was a really good Christmas weekend for us and New Year's was as usual, pretty uneventful for us, mostly because everyone was sick and Brad had to work.

This is Jacob and his cousin Julianna they are 1 month apart. I got so busy that I forgot to take pictures of him with his other cousins.

And this is a picture of all of the newest additions to the Snow family. 7 babies in less than a year!! I think that's some kind of record! :)
